Information handled

• Access data. Cloudflare may process technical data such as IP address, browser and device information, requested URLs, timestamps and security events when serving this site.
• Age confirmation. After you select “I'm 18 or older,” this choice is stored only in your browser's session storage so the gate does not reappear during the same session. It is not an identity or account record.
• Location. If you choose the location button and grant permission, your position is used in your browser to place the location marker and move the map. This site does not store your precise location on its own servers. Map tiles for the area you view are requested from OpenFreeMap.
• Messages. If you contact us by email or Instagram, we receive the contact details and information you choose to send.

Purposes and retention

Technical data is used to deliver and secure the site, investigate errors and understand aggregate traffic. On the current Cloudflare Workers plan, request logs available to the operator may be retained for up to 3 days, while aggregate Worker metrics may remain available for up to 3 months. We do not maintain a separate visitor-log database.

Age confirmation remains until the browser session ends or you clear the session data. General correspondence is kept only as needed to answer and follow up, normally no longer than 12 months after the last contact. Records supporting a venue confirmation, correction or removal request may be kept while the listing remains active and for up to 12 months afterwards.

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect the site or its users, or to service providers only as needed to operate the site and communications.

External services

Cloudflare provides hosting, content delivery and security. OpenFreeMap provides map tiles using OpenStreetMap data. Google provides our email service. If you open Google Maps, Instagram, a venue website or another external link, that provider receives your request and its own privacy terms apply. We do not control those external services.

Your choices

You can deny location permission, clear session storage in your browser, or contact us to ask about, correct or delete information you sent directly to us. We may need reasonable verification before acting on a request made on behalf of a venue or another person.

Information service only

Tokyo Nightlife is an independent information guide. We do not operate the listed venues and are not a booking agent, ticket seller or party to any transaction between you and a venue or external service.

Check before you visit

Venue information is compiled from public information, official sources, clearly identified specialist sources and direct venue responses where available. Prices, hours, schedules, language support, payment methods, admission rules and availability can change without notice. Always confirm important details with the venue's official source before travelling or paying.

Map pins and directions are provided as a practical aid and may not reflect temporary entrances, building access restrictions or current conditions. A listing, category or verification label is not a guarantee of admission, quality, safety or legal compliance, and does not imply endorsement.

External links and transactions

External websites, reservations, tickets, messages, purchases and other dealings are governed by the third party's terms. Tokyo Nightlife does not receive or hold payment for them and does not intervene in disputes between users and external providers. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses caused by reliance on changed or inaccurate third-party information. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Age

This site is not intended for anyone under 18. Some venues and activities have a higher minimum age. In Japan, alcohol and tobacco are restricted to people aged 20 or older. The site's age gate does not replace a venue's identity check or admission policy.

Copyright and permitted use

Original text, design, code and Tokyo Nightlife branding are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Venue names, trademarks and third-party materials remain the property of their respective owners. Map data and providers are credited in the map attribution.

You may use the site for personal, non-commercial planning. You may not copy or commercially republish a substantial part of the listings, systematically scrape or extract the database, bypass technical protections, interfere with the service, impersonate the operator or a venue, or use the site unlawfully.

Changes

We may update the site and this page when the service or legal requirements change. The updated date above identifies the current version. These terms are governed by the laws of Japan.
